Fagradalsfjall Eruption

After lying dormant for 800 years, the Fagradalsfjall Volcanoe in Iceland's Reykjanes peninsula erupted. The magma flow progression was unlike anything I have ever witnessed, lava was spewing over the top and sides of the fissure beast as the mouth spat molten chunks hundreds of meters in the air. My senses heightened as a shiver of warmth crossed my skin knowing full well that the heat I felt has made up the earth I was raised on in Hawaii. The unforgettable sounds of the volcanic eruption replay in my memory- a soothing, life-changing and terrifying realization that humbles all who experience it.

‘By Hand’

From Alaska to Mexico

‘By Hand’ is a feature length documentary adventure film. In an attempt to escape comfort, reconnect to the natural world and set a new bar for ocean adventure, twin brothers Casey and Ryan Higginbotham made a decision that would reshape their lives. On March 18th 2016 they embarked on a 2,200-mile paddle from Alaska to Mexico with 18- foot paddleboards. The brothers carried nothing more than two dry bags of gear each and a camera. No support boats, no paddles, nothing similar to gauge off. Nothing like this has ever been done. Film By Kellen Keene

Mountainsmith T.A.N.

Mountainsmith Gear T.A.N. Camera Bag Series

After so many years behind the lens, trying and testing different carrying solutions, Chris Burkard quickly learned that there is no perfect bag. His goal with this system was to create something that he'd be comfortable taking on 95% on his trips. Something he can shoot out off, take on a day hike, travel on planes with, or simply take on a day to the beach and leave the cameras behind. The pieces can be used independently or as a system for an easy and versatile solution on every adventure. Learn more at mountainsmith.com, chrisburkard.com, REI.com, or bhphotovideo.com.
